Adult Child still living at home?
There are so many articles out there that focus on the challenges
of having an adult child living at home…but what about the BENEFITS
that go along with having an adult child living at home?
Well, I put a little bit of thought into it and here is my list of “benefits that go along with having an adult child living at home:”

You have someone to feed your pets when you go out of town.

You have an extra pair of hands to help with tasks around the house.

You have someone that can bring in the mail each day.

You have someone to bounce ideas off of.

You have a potential opponent to play cards (or other games) against.

You have someone to drop you off and pick you up when you get your car worked on.

You have someone to hopefully help with the monthly bills.

You have someone to watch the house when you are away.
-
You have someone that can pick up needed groceries when you aren’t able.

You have someone that can answer the door when solicitors come knocking.

You have someone to watch sports with.
-
You have someone to scratch that itch on your back that you can’t reach.

You have someone to hang out with on rainy days.

You have someone that can kill that pesky spider in the bathroom.

You have an alibi!

You have someone to binge-watch Netflix with.

You have someone to give advice to.

You have someone to make breakfast for.

You have someone that can call 911 if a medical emergency arises.

You have someone that reminds you of how important it is to be a parent.

You have someone to try your bad mom jokes or dad jokes on.

You have someone to share your life story with.

You have someone that will listen to you rant or vent about whatever is bothering you.

You have someone with you that loves you – whether they show it or not.

You have someone that depends on you in ways that you might not realize.

You have someone to celebrate small victories with.

You have someone that can give you a different perspective.

You have someone that can run errands for you.

You have someone to share a pizza with.

You have someone to bring your packages in - before they get stolen by porch pirates!

You have someone to help you find your lost car keys.

You have someone that can get you an aspirin when you aren’t feeling so well.

You have someone to laugh with…or to cry with.

You have someone to eat your leftovers.

You have someone that keeps you on your toes!
So, there you have it – 35 reasons why it isn’t so bad to have an adult child living at home. I’m sure that there are many more than what I was able to come up with…but these will have to do for now. Hopefully, if you are a parent with an adult child living at home, you can appreciate these “benefits” and enjoy your circumstances, regardless of the challenges it may pose.
